Fermenco: About us

Fermenco – Improving Industrial Microbes
Fermenco supports the fermentation industry with improvement of industrial micro-organism applied in industrial fermentation processes. The company was founded in December 2006 by Professor Peter Ruhdal Jensen and Associate Professor Brian Koebmann, both situated at BioCentrum-DTU, Technical University of Denmark.

Owners
Fermenco is currently owned by Fermenco Holding ApS and Teknologisk Innovation A/S.

Organisation
Fermenco has appointed a professional supervisory board of directors consisting of three industry professionals with international experience. The board includes science and technology as well as marketing expertise.

Location
Fermenco is situated in facilities at the Technical University of Denmark, which enables the company to be in close contact with the academia.

Intellectual property rights
Femenco holds two patent protected technologies for optimisation of micro-organisms, referred to as the SPL and ATPase technologies, which constitutes the current fundament for Fermenco’s business.
